German cities are becoming increasingly dense. Despite this, there are a number of brownfield sites in every city. We believe that these unused spaces can have lasting benefits for people in the neighborhood. That's why we wanted to find a way to make the spaces accessible to those who can best use them.
We step back from our role as designers and activate the people of the neighborhood to design the unused spaces themselves. The solution is a nonprofit organization that acts as a link between property owners, city officials and residents. A platform involves people from the first moment, builds a community and creates a basic structure.
